Cozy gifts for book lovers
1. Blanket
Curling up with a good book always means curling up with a soft, cozy blanket, which makes a great gift for book lovers!
You can DIY them too especially if you have soft fabric. If you don’t, no worries, there are lots of options on Amazon. A blanket making kit might be perfect for this project (this company carries a bunch of colors too!).
With your fabric, follow this simple tutorial to make tie blankets. It’s beyond easy to do and there’s no sewing involved, just cutting and tying knots. This makes such a heartwarming gift!
You can also create a chunky knit blanket too. Catherine from Do It On A Dime explains exactly how to make one using chunky blanket yarn (like this one from Bernat). And, like before, no sewing is required!
If DIY isn’t your vibe, then get this popular fleece throw or this weighted cotton blanket. Either will be great for the book girlie to curl up under.
2. Throw
If blankets are too bulky to gift, how about getting a smaller throw? You know, the thin ones that feel so deliciously soft! Depending on your budget, opt for a simple cotton one or splurge on luxury gifts like cashmere throws!
3. Tees and sweaters
Cozy book lover gifts aren’t limited to blankies and throws. Warm, oversized sweaters also feel pretty fun to wear when curling up with a good book. Bonus points if they have book related graphics on them. These are really nice!
As for tees, how much fun are these? They all make pretty sweet gifts. Double check the size guides to make sure they’ll fit before grabbing them.
4. Socks
If you aren’t sure about the sizes of tees and sweaters to get your favorite book lovers, opt for socks instead. There are loads of funny ones out there. The first one below has a polite message under the feet and the next one is a little more …. blunt. Both socks are one-sized!
5. Scarf
Much like socks, scarves are also one-size fits all. If your reading enthusiasts are Jane Austen and Pride and Prejudice fans, they might really enjoy this printed scarf with Darcy’s letter to Elizabeth. If not, then the book graphic on this chiffon scarf might be more their vibe.
Reading essentials!
6. Cute highlighters
New, cute highlighters are always a hit for the reading lovers who enjoy highlighting sections that resonate. You can choose thick, neon colored highlighters or opt for kawaii, cutesy ones.
Mr. Pen pastel highlighters are my favorites! And, cat lovers would certainly be a fan of these mini highlighters. For a non-traditional highlighter with unique patterns, this one is pretty fun too!
7. Annotation kits
For the self help lovers and avid annotators, get them a beautiful annotation kit. You can put one together yourself with the pretty highlighters from above and some Post-It sticky tabs. Or pick up cute kawaii stationery every book lover would swoon over.
The first set below has everything from pens, pencils, highlighters, sticky notes, tabs and a case to keep everything in. And the second one is from Mr. Pen with brighter colored highlighters, tabs and cute pens.
8. Sticky notes
If you’d rather gift more unique sticky notes and writing pads, there are quite a few book-themed ones out there. Some of these are pretty cute for jotting down profound blurbs and inspirational quotes.
There are also journaling sticky notes that your friends can use to review the books they’ve read.
9. Notebooks and journals
For more meticulous notetakers, sticky notes and notepads won’t do! They would likely prefer notebooks instead. You can go for cute aesthetic ones or book themed notebooks! I mean how whimsical is this Winnie the Pooh one?
Journals are great too! If they are speedy readers and love to keep track of what they’ve read so far, a reading journal will definitely be a perfect gift! And, for a regular journal that’s all magical and Harry Potter related, you can’t go wrong with this one.
10. Bookmarks
Sweet bookmarks make incredibly cheap and meaningful gifts, especially if you make them yourself. There are so many variations to go with from using simple paper and origami to dried flowers and fabrics. You really can be so creative here.
Follow this simple tutorial for an origami one:
Of course, you can also purchase them online. Corner page bookmarks, cute magnetic ones and those with tassels and charms are always fun!
11. Mugs
Is the book enthusiast into sipping hot tea or coffee while reading? How about getting her (or him) a book inspired mug. It could feature graphics from their favorite book series or have simple motifs on it. You can even have the mug personalized with their name.
Here are a couple options they might like.
For the classic literary fanatics, they would definitely enjoy this first lines of literature mug and this one with Shakespeare’s insults.
12. Glasses
Trade the mugs for wine glasses and tumblers if your book lover prefers iced drinks and wine. You can find book-themed options just about anywhere or get customized ones with their name. I like these!
13. Candles
Ah yes! Another book lovers classic – candles. Go for scents they would really enjoy. Lavender, chamomile and citrus are all delightful options. And, you can also get ones with fun messages on them too.
Check these out.
14. Subscriptions
Kindle and Audiobook subscriptions and even Amazon gift cards can be nice gifts for avid readers and listeners. I mean, is there any such thing as too many books? Nope!

17. Pillows and covers
Okay, maybe these should be in the cozy gifts for book lovers section, but how cute would reading related pillows and pillow covers be for your fave’s reading nook? I mean pillows are great for support, comfort and decor so it’s perfect!
Be sure to match their decor with some of these.
18. Decals and wall stickers
Decals and wall stickers are another way to bring in fun decor to your reader friend’s space. I have open book decals in my reading nook and they bring so much joy to me! You can opt for great inspirational quotes, fun designs and whimsical wall stickers.
These make super sweet gifts! I’ve actually featured the floral decals below in my apartment bedroom decor ideas. Check that out for more decor fun!
19. Figurines and unique decor
Mini potted plants, cute figurines especially from their favorite book franchise, reading sculptures, crystals, crochet toys and even vases for flowers can be great presents. Or create some unique gifts like painted rocks and handmade mini art.
20. Lights
Lights and lamps are also great gifts for readers. Opt for reading lights for around the neck or artsy lamps that look exactly like an opened book! I mean how cool is this one?
Gadgets and gizmos
21. Kindle
When it comes to an e-reader, nothing makes a better gift than the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. It’s really remarkable how much joy that tiny little device can give to reading lovers.
22. Clickers
If your friend already has an e-reader, consider getting them a clicker so they don’t have to swipe the screen to turn the page. Clickers are pretty cheap and add to their wonderful reading experience.
23. Ear buds
For audiobook lovers, having good quality Bluetooth headphones and ear buds are a must. I have JBL ones that I absolutely love and they’re noise cancelling too. If the reading enthusiasts in your life prefer to read in silence, these are perfect.
Otherwise, get them some Loop ear plugs as a non-electronic option.

Oh, you can also get a regular, fun puzzle too!
25. Book holders
To enhance their reading experience, consider getting your loved ones a book holder. You can go for stands and even ones with built-in pillows. Otherwise, consider little holders the reader can slide his or her thumb through.
26. Book binding kit
For the book-obsessed, I’m sure they’ve dabbled with repairing and binding their own books already. If that’s something they’ve shown interest in, explore a book binding kit as a gift. This one comes with all the bells and whistles including a book press.
27. Stamps
I mean what screams I love you more than stamps? I must admit I’ve been obsessed with them as a kid and I think receiving them has become a love language of mine! If the bibliophile in your life would love them too, consider getting custom ones like these.
28. Embossing set
An embossing set is the luxurious, grown up version of stamps. Ha! Get custom ones with their names on them.
