Rumi quotes on gratitude

Poem: The Guest House

“This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.” – Rumi

"Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond." - Rumi (gratitude Rumi quotes)

Excerpt from Poem: All Rivers at Once

“What is the body? Endurance. What is love? Gratitude. What is hidden in our chests ? Laughter. What else? Compassion.” – Rumi

Excerpt from Poem: Green Ears

“When someone does not feel grateful to that, the forms appear to be as he feels. They mirror his anger, his greed, and his fear. Make peace with the universe. Take joy in it. It will turn to gold. Resurrection will be now. Every moment, a new beauty, and never any boredom” – Rumi

Poem: The Net of Gratitude

“Giving thanks for abundance is sweeter than the abundance itself: Should one who is absorbed with the Generous One be distracted by the gift? Thankfulness is the soul of beneficence [charity/kindness]; abundance is but the husk, for thankfulness brings you to the place where the Beloved lives. Abundance yields heedlessness; thankfulness brings alertness: hunt for bounty with the net of gratitude.” – Rumi

Excerpt from Poem: Livelihood

“I know nothing better than gratitude which brings in its wake the daily bread and its increase.” – Rumi

More quotes

“Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life.” – Rumi

“Be grateful for your life, every detail of it, and your face will come to shine like a sun, and everyone who sees it will be made glad and peaceful. Persist in gratitude, and you will slowly become one with the Sun of Love, and Love will shine through you its all-healing joy. The path of gratitude is not for children; it is path of tender heroes, of the heroes of tenderness who, whatever happens, keep burning on the altar of their hearts the flame of adoration.” – Rumi

"Be grateful for your life, every detail of it, and your face will come to shine like a sun" - Rumi (gratitude Rumi quotes)

“This universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you are already that.” – Rumi
